Massimo Verzella joined Penn State Behrend from North Dakota State University, where he completed a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Writing and Culture. His main areas of interest are technical writing, translation, intercultural communication, cross-cultural rhetoric, and applied linguistics. He also holds a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from the Università Gabriele d’Annunzio in Chieti-Pescara, Italy. His most recent publications have appeared in Changing English: Studies in Culture & Education and RPCG: Rhetoric, Professional Communication, and Globalization. Massimo is a member of the Trans-Atlantic and Pacific Project (TAPP), a complex educational network of bilateral writing-translation projects that connects classes in writing, usability testing, and/or translation at four universities in the U.S. (including Penn State Behrend), three in Italy, two each in Belgium and Portugal, and one each in Austria, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Kenya, Russia, and Spain, involving scores of instructors and thousands of students.
